I've loved every single book in Adriana Locke's Landry Family series, yet to my mind, they just keep getting better and better.
Written as a standalone, Ford and Ellie's dual point of view story nevertheless builds upon the shared history established in the previous novels of the series, making it all the richer for those who've read them, but even foregoing that, i'd suggest that it's a great read.
One thing I loved was that, for a second chance romance, Swear avoids many of the tried and true tropes common to that sub-genre. Ford and Ellie burst forth from the page as fully realized characters each with their own agendas, and more importantly, at different stages in their lives, with Ford finally ready to settle down and Ellie? Not so much. Just when I'd get an inkling about where the story was going to go next, Adriana would change things up and surprise me.
Combing elements of humor and drama and all the emotions that come with lives beginning, ending and becoming entwined, this felt like the perfect way to round out the boys of the Landry family, and had me feeling all the feels.
Can't wait so see what's in store for the two youngest Landry's

Every time I read a Landry family novel by Adriana Locke, I fall in love with that family all over again, as if I couldn't love them any more, each book proves me wrong. I especially fall in love with the brothers that so far each book is based off of. This book is no exception. Ford Landry is everything you would want in a book boyfriend, sweet, caring, protective, alpha and did I mention hot?
Adriana has outdone herself again. I loved the two main characters Ford and Ellie. I loved the fact that they had a past and were reunited several years later. The banter between the characters was awesome. I also loved the banter between Ellie and her Dad, their relationship was sweet and touching. However I especially enjoyed the relationships within the Landry family, from the parents to the children, between the siblings and of course Hux. They seem like your typical family that has a lot of siblings. I wish I was a member of that family!
I love reading happy ending stories where old lovers get a second chance at love, and this book was everything I wanted in that department.
I have read every book that Adriana has released and I usually read them in one sitting because they are so good I can't put them down. This book was no different. I automatically one click anything that this amazing author writes. I don't have to know what the book is about or what the title is. If it has her name on it, I will one click that book in a second!

Ok so first off this is a Ford Landry Standalone book... Enough said.. right! Lol ok I guess I can tell you more about it but truly that is all you need to know to just one click this right now! We'll this is technically the 4th book in the Series of Standalones and they are all amazing and should be one clicked immediately.
So Ford story starts off with him and Ellie are high school sweethearts. Where one day he decided to up and leave and joined the military. When doing so he not only breaks up with Ellie but also breaks her heart. Well we have all been there before a time or two. Wondering if ever a 2nd chance at romance is ever possible. Well little did Ford know that the chance was remotely possible and when he realized that Ellie was back in town and that just maybe he could get a 2nd chance he was taking it and would not take no for an answer. Of course as all women are when a man and our hearts are on the line it won't be as easy to get in the 2nd time because we won't be broken down again by the same man twice! Ford has his work cut out for him in the groveling department. Lol Ford is 1 of my 2 favorite Landry Men. He's sweet, protective, swoony, Sexy and I can't get enough of him. Ellie is Smart, Driven, confident, also very beautiful & sexy! The chemistry is off the charts and the banter between makes you laugh your butt! I love how the author keeps the characters fresh, witty, developed, and easier to connect with. They are very relatable. With each book I read of hers I get all of the feelers with it. I can't wait to see what is in store for the next book in the series. I truly am a fan and would recommend this book to anyone & everyone who will listen to me.
Maybe it's just me (as evidenced by all the 4 and 5 star reviews) but this feels an awful lot like the other books in the series. Boy meets (or re-meets) girl, girl doesn't want a relationship, boy doesn't care what she wants and pursues her relentlessly, girl can't help but fall for guy because he's so hot, well hung and good in bed. I'm only 13 chapters in to this one, but I can't take it any more.
I like my men alpha, don't get me wrong, but there's not a whole lot likable about Ford, and Ellie is so spineless - is she mad at him or not? She's totally rude to him almost every conversation they have, yet she can't resist his touch?
Also, on a side note, I am listening to this on Audible, and I think it's a mistake to have the same two narrators read all the stories. The voices are all the same, is this Linc and Dani? Graham and Mallory? Ford and Ellie? There's almost no difference (except for Linc's off and on Southern accent). I wouldn't read another story in this series. There's just not enough variance, the drama seems forced, the women are weak, and the men are kind of jerks.
